A VAN driver has been sentenced by the courts for speeding twice on an A-road on the same day.

Kristian Fincham, 50 and of Harvey Road, Bournemouth, was alleged to have committed the two offences on the A38(A) Deep Lane – Marsh Mills in Plymouth on September 22.

Court papers stated that he was driving a Nissan NV400 van and he twice exceeded the 60mph limit. The speed he was recorded as travelling at was not listed.

Fincham pleaded guilty to both offences through the single justice procedure.

He was not required to attend at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court for a closed-doors hearing on May 11.

A lone magistrate imposed a total fine of £254, along with orders to pay £180 surcharge and £68 costs.

The defendant’s driving record was endorsed with six points.
