GLOBAL sportswear retailer Sweaty Betty says it is excited to start “empowering women” ahead of its opening in Ringwood tomorrow.
As reported, British founded Sweaty Betty will open its latest outlet in Ringwood’s Furlong shopping centre, replacing the Aga cooker shop which closed its doors in April.
The upcoming Ringwood site will become the 62nd to open in the UK and the first of its kind anywhere south of London.
Opening its doors with a launch event on Wednesday, May 18, the first fifty customers will receive a goodie bag containing a treat. Exclusive discounts and prizes as well as refreshments from local business neighbours will also be available until Friday, May 20.
The store will showcase Sweaty Betty’s entire multi-sport activewear range, including its popular "bum-sculpting" leggings and performance pieces representing categories such as Run, Yoga, Train, and the new eco-friendly Swim range.
Complimentary services offered at the Ringwood site will include in-store workout classes and community events.
Caroline Scott, Sweaty Betty’s senior vice president of global retail, said: “We are excited to launch our first store in Hampshire reaching new and existing customers in our local community empowering women through fitness and beyond.
“Ringwood is a delightful, unspoilt historic town with both quaint and modern shops, street entertainment, restaurants, pubs and cafes.”
Charlie Reed, Furlong marketing manager, told the Echo: “To attract a premium retailer like this to a market town is really exciting for us and will only build upon our already successful store mix. We have lots of exciting plans that we will be announcing on our social media channels in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for updates.”
Ahead of the opening, residents on social media were mostly pleased by the news. One person said: “Fabulous. Hats off to places like Ringwood for attracting quality businesses to the town centre.”
In August last year, Sweaty Betty was bought by publicly traded American apparel manufacturer Wolverine Worldwide for £300m.
