A MAN from Ringwood has been fined more than £3,000 for assaulting a woman in London.
Matthew James, 56, was alleged to have committed the assault by beating offence in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on November 14, 2021.
James pleaded guilty to the single charge when he appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on April 7.
The defendant, whose address was given as Avon Castle Drive, Ringwood, was in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 5, for sentencing.
The bench issued the James with a £3,200 fine. He was also ordered to pay a £190 surcharge and £85 costs, making a total court bill of £3,475.
