CARER SUPPORT Dorset, who support unpaid carers across the Dorset Council area, has been awarded £9,600 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

Carer Support Dorset will use their funding to run a series of arts workshops across the county during Carers Week (June 6-12).

This new National Lottery funding will allow Carer Support Dorset to work with The Arts Development Company to run eight arts workshops with different artists for Dorset’s unpaid carers across the week.

The workshops will run at the following venues: Winterborne Whitechurch Village Hall on Monday June 6: Play with Clay Workshop.

(10am-12noon), Cloudscape Workshop (2pm-4pm).

Dorset Carers Hub, 28 South Street, Dorchester on Monday June 6: Puppet Workshop (10am-12noon), Music Making Workshop (2pm-4pm).

Gillingham Library on Wednesday June 8: Introduction to Lino Printmaking Workshops (10am-12 noon and 1pm-3pm).

The Beacon Room, St Mary’s Church, Ferndown on Friday June 10: Movement and Dance Workshop (11am-1pm), Singing Workshop (2-4pm).

In addition to this, carers will be able to help decorate venues for Carers Week by receiving free bunting packs made by The Wayward Adventurers Guild.
