A MAN has appeared in court over assaulting a woman at a kebab shop in Bournemouth town centre.
William Harry James Nicholls, aged 22, was charged in relation to an incident at Doner Kebab Shop in Old Christchurch Road on September 17 last year.
Nicholls was alleged to have assaulted a woman by beating her and causing a woman fear or provoking violence.
The defendant, whose address was given as Ashley Road, New Milton, pleaded guilty to both offences at a Poole Magistrates’ Court hearing on March 16.
He appeared at the same court again on Tuesday, May 3, for sentencing.
Deputy District Judge Jodie Mittell handed Nicholls a 12-month community order, with requirements to take part in up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity and carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
The offender was also ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
