A CAT was rescued and given oxygen by firefighters after a kitchen blaze at a property in Bournemouth.
Three crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service were called at 12.23pm on Sunday, May 1, to a report of smoke coming from a domestic property in Elmsway in Southbourne.
On arrival, crews from Christchurch, Redhill Park and Westbourne stations discovered a fire in the ground floor kitchen of the property. The blaze was extinguished with two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus.
The property was empty at the time except for the cat who was saved by firefighters.
A fire spokesperson said one pump was still in attendance as of 2pm, however added they would likely be leaving soon. There is no indication of cause at this time.
