BCP COUNCIL has announced that the ‘vital’ resurfacing work taking place on Mannings Heath roundabout has been completed ahead of time.

The roundabout and roads around it are fully open now ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: “We thank residents for their patience whilst these works took place.”

Beginning at 5am on Monday April 25, the roundabout and key linked roads were closed 24 hours a day for the entire period of works and were expected to re-open tomorrow at 6am on Saturday April 30.

During the works, all approaches to the roundabout were closed to traffic.

Motorists were warned of 'gridlock' as the busy road closure caused long delays across the conurbation.

BCP Council said that while there is “never a good time” to carry out works on such a “crucial hub”, they believed completing the works after the Easter holiday period and before the May bank holiday would minimise the impact.
