THE BLACK Cherry Theatre in Boscombe is celebrating their first six months in business.

During this time they have held regular music, theatre and comedy performances and run a cafe menu and licensed bar.

Jon Davis, company director said: “What a six months it has been. We have hosted music, theatre, comedy, magic, charity nights, fundraisers, story telling, festivals, dance and much more.

“We've put on classes for all ages, workshops for the masses, run rehearsals, worked with over 100 comedians and performed on our stage.

“We've supported new work, curated evenings, supported the development of artists and we are extremely proud of what we have been able to do in such a short amount of time, what's more, we have had a great time doing it.

“Our menu continues to be as epic as what happens on our stage, our chef is an artist and an asset to the Black Cherry Team.

“Both our creative and bar staff truly invested in our mission and make a visit to the cafe a welcoming and inviting experience.”

Speaking about the future for the Black Cherry Theatre, Jon said: “As we continue to spread the word about this awesome space, we look back to all who have supported us as we continue to make advances towards having a sustainable long term impact on the creative culture in BCP, the future looks bright and we look forward to the next six months, bringing entertainment to audiences, giving creatives opportunities and supporting the arts.

“As for the next six months, continue to expect regular improv comedy, awesome stand up, a phenomenal programme of music, art, family entertainment, classes and courses.

“Expect a home for artistic development in the south and a great night out.”

The venue is run by the Black Cherry company which was established in 2018, as a local creative and artistic venture.
