THE crew of an air ambulance has captured a unique perspective on the huge development project taking place at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Work is progressing on constructing the six-storey BEACH Building (Births, Emergency care, And, Critical care and child Health).
University Hospitals Dorset, the NHS trust the runs Royal Bournemouth Hospital, shared an aerial image of the building site on social media.
Richard Renaut, UHD’s chief strategy and transformation officer, said: “We thank our colleagues in the Dorset Air Ambulance for sharing these amazing photos.
“Seeing this ‘birds-eye view’ on progress on the BEACH Building and new energy centre construction is a real boost for everyone, highlighting the exciting development of new healthcare facilities for patients in Dorset.”

The new building is currently due to open in autumn 2024 as part of UHD’s £250million transformation.
It will have a floorspace equivalent to 115 tennis courts, providing a new maternity unit, children’s unit, enhanced emergency department and critical care unit, making the site the major emergency hospital for Dorset.
