A MAN has been fined by the courts for boarding a train without a valid ticket.
Leon Russell Ingram, aged 45, was alleged to have entered a train at New Milton Station for the purpose of travelling without having with him a valid ticket entitling him to travel on September 21 last year.
Ingram, whose address was given as Hardy Close, New Milton, was taken to court by South Western Trains.
The case was handled under the single justice procedure after the defendant pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was not present for the Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court hearing in which a lone magistrate issued a £40 fine.
Ingram was also ordered to pay £5.50 compensation, £34 surcharge and £70 costs.
