A WOMAN has received a court bill of more than £500 after being caught speeding on a motorway.

Suzanne Lever, 53 and of Iwerne Minster, Blandford Forum, was alleged to have driven a motor vehicle at 85mph on the M1 southbound between junctions 41 and 40 in Wakefield on November 9 last year.

The speed limit in force on the busy stretch of road was 70mph.

Lever pleaded guilty to a single offence of speeding through the single justice procedure.

A lone magistrate sitting at a closed-doors hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 7 issued the offender with a £384 fine.

The defendant was also ordered to pay a £38 surcharge and £90 costs.

Her driving record was endorsed with three points.
