A POOLE resident has been put behind bars after failing to carry out unpaid work as part of a suspended sentence three years ago.

Adedayo Pitan, 37, was alleged to have failed to carried out unpaid work on April 30, 2019, and May 7, 2019, having received a suspended sentence at Medway Magistrates’ Court on April 8, 2019.

Court papers from a hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on April 7, 2022, stated that the suspended sentence was issued after Pitan stole 45 pairs of trainers, worth a total of £4,580.54, from a Footlocker store.

The defendant, whose address was given as Yarmouth Road, Poole, admitted that he failed to comply with the unpaid work requirement.

The bench dealt with the offender for the original thef matter and decided to implement the 100-day suspended prison sentence in full.
