PART of a key route in Dorset has reopened following a six-week closure.
Part of the B3092 near Gillingham was closed on Tuesday, March 1 - in a bid to complete the next phase of a newly developed street.
The closure happened between the bridge over the River Lodden at Madjeston and the Cole Street Lane junction.
The closure was part of the construction project for the new Principal Street – a mile-long residential road to support the Gillingham southern expansion – which started in August 2021.
Over the coming months, work includes continuing with earthworks for the road construction, installing lower road layers for kerbing works to begin, and continuing with duct crossings and the installation of the Wessex Water main.
