A MAN from Bournemouth has been handed a court bill of more than £200 for boarding a train without a valid ticket.
Shilan Ormisiar, aged 23, was alleged to have gone on a train between Tottenham Hale and Stanstead Airport railway stations on November 26 last year without a ticket entitling him to travel.
Ormisiar, whose address was given as Wickham Road, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to the offence under the single justice procedure.
A lone magistrate dealt with his case at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court closed-doors hearing, which the defendant did not attend, on Monday, April 1.
The offender was fined £40 and ordered to pay £9.75 compensation, £34 surcharge and £150 costs.
