A MAN sustained serious injuries after being assaulted in Bournemouth.

The man, aged in his 50s and from Bournemouth, was found with a serious laceration to his wrist at an address in Cunningham Crescent at around 2.45am on Sunday, April 10.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said it is suspected the man was assaulted outside in the street in Cunningham Crescent a short time before officers arrived.

A 43-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 41-year-old man from Bournemouth was also arrested on suspicion of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward as part of their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Leo Glendon, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident and detectives have been checking for any available CCTV and carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Cunningham Crescent between 1.30am and 3am on Sunday 10 April 2022 and witnessed any suspicious activity to please get in touch.”
