A MAN has been banned from driving after he was spotted undertaking another vehicle on a motorway.
Kevin Batt, 61, was alleged to have been at the wheel of a Nissan Almera between junction 12 and junction 11 of the M27 in Fareham on November 17, 2020, when he drove without due care and attention.
He was accused of undertaking a vehicle travelling in lane three of the motorway rather than waiting until it was safe to overtake using the lane four.
Batt, whose address was given as Mallard Road, Bournemouth, pleaded guilty through the single justice procedure in June last year.
He appeared before Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 5, for sentencing.
The bench disqualified him from driving for 12 months, with it an obligatory ban due to repeat offending.
The defendant was also fined £40 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.
