A MAN has been fined for stealing another man’s wallet at a Dorset golf club.
Nicholas Andrew Mead, 48, was accused of the theft offence at Ferndown Forest Golf Club in Forest Links Road on August 9 last year.
Dorset Police had received a report that the victim had left their wallet on a shelf and a man was seen to pick it up.
A force spokesperson said following enquiries a suspect was identified and the wallet was returned.
Mead, whose address was given as Sandy Lane, Colehill, pleaded guilty to the single charge when he appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 1.
Magistrates handed the defendant a £700 fine and ordered him to pay a £70 surcharge and £85 costs.
