A SPEED indicator on a busy road has gone missing – just days after it was installed.

Police and Lyndhurst Parish Council are hunting for the device, which was attached to the New Forest Visitor Centre Sign on Southampton Road on Friday, April 1.

On April 6, the casing was found damaged and without the digital contents.

New Forest Heart Cops are appealing for information.

A spokesperson said: “Please can you help Lyndhurst Parish Council with this appeal. “They are looking for anyone who may have any information of the whereabouts of their speed indicator device ( SID ).

Bournemouth Echo:

“SID was fitted to the New Forest Visitor Centre sign on Southampton Road on Friday April 1. It was reported missing this afternoon (Wednesday 6) with a few small parts of it left behind.”
