A WOMAN has been handed a court bill of several hundred pounds over littering a cigarette butt.
Victoria Slade, 50, was alleged to have thrown down, dropped or otherwise deposited the litter in Above Bar Street, Southampton, on November 4 last year.
Slade, whose address was given as Northfield Road, Milford-on-Sea, was prosecuted by Southampton City Council.
The case against the defendant was proved during a single justice procedure process, with Slade not present for the closed-doors hearing at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on March 30.
A lone magistrate issued a £220 fine and orderd payment of a £34 surcharge and £168.75 costs.
