EMERGENCY services rescued a casualty from a rib at Poole Yacht Club on Sunday April 3.

Poole Coastguard rescue team were called at 4.40pm to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with a casualty on a rib at Poole Yacht Club who had an injury to their back.

On arrival, the team assessed the casualty and took care of them while they waited for the ambulance.

Members of the Poole Team then carried out casualty evacuation along with the ambulance crew to an awaiting ambulance for onward treatment at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

A spokesperson from Poole Coastguard rescue team said: “Once the ambulance had left the scene, a debrief was carried out before being stood down and returning to our station. Southbourne Coastguard were also in attendance.”

A spokesperson from Southbourne Coastguard said: “We were called at 5.32pm by the joint rescue coordination centre to support Poole Coastguard Rescue Team with the extraction of a casualty from a RIB at Poole Yacht Club.

“With the assistance of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust the casualty was extracted and transported to hospital for further care. At this point we stood down and returned to the station.”
