AN UNINSURED Lamborghini driver with “dangerously tinted windows” was one of several offenders dealt with by traffic police last night.

Officers from Dorset Police’s traffic unit reported a series of incidents in the Bournemouth area on Saturday evening (April 2) ranging from drug drive arrests to number plate offences.

After assisting in the clearance of a section of the Wessex Way following a single vehicle collision, officers conducted a vehicle stop in the Triangle area. The stop concerned a vehicle following information about the condition of its driver due to drug abuse.

The driver, who had previously been stopped by police, provided a positive roadside test for cocaine which led to their arrest. A blood sample will soon be tested.

Later, traffic cops assisted their Bournemouth Police colleagues with two further incidents.

The first was a vehicle stopped for lack of a number plate and being found to contain “more passengers than seatbelts”.

A strong odour of cannabis was also detected by officers, for which the driver later tested positive for. They were arrested and taken into custody, for the first time according to police.

Lastly, a blue Lamborghini was stopped and the driver was subject to a breath test. However, on inspecting the vehicle it was determined to be uninsured for its use and also had “dangerously tinted windows”.

A Dorset Traffic Cops spokesperson said: “We then [conducted] the evidential procedures at the station with the driver. They now have an awkward conversation to have with the car’s owner.”
