A MAN and a woman sustained stab wounds in Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of an assault in Holdenhurst Road just after 12noon on Saturday.

Dorset Police said the man and woman had sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Two men have since been arrested in connection with the incident following a search.

A property in Holdenhurst Road was taped off by police with armed officers in attendance.

Armed police were seen entering the property which was guarded by an officer. 

The police helicopter was also launched during the incident.

Around six police cars could be seen in the area of Holdenhurst Road near to the junction with Methuen Close on Saturday afternoon as police continued their enquiries.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “At 12.05pm on Saturday 2 April 2022 Dorset Police received a report of an assault in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth in which a man and a woman sustained stab wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Officers attended the scene and following a search two men have been arrested in relation to the incident.”

Residents were evacuated from the building as police carried out enquiries but were later allowed to return, however it remains taped off.
