Woman comes forward after concerns for welfare in Poole

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was reportedly heard shouting for help from a moving vehicle in Poole. 

Concerned about the woman’s welfare, officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and have issued an image of the car. 

Dorset Police received a report at 6.53pm of a female passenger shouting for help while travelling in a moving car in Ashley Road near to the junction with Loch Road in the direction of Redlands Retail Park on Monday, March 28.

Detective Inspector Ian Allen, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are carrying out numerous enquiries to try and identify the vehicle to ensure the passenger is safe and well.

“As part of our CCTV checks in the area, we have obtained an image of what is believed to be the car involved and would ask anyone who has information, or believes they are the owner as they were travelling in the area at the time, to please come forward.

“We received the report in good faith from a concerned member of the public and while there may be an innocent explanation as to what has happened, we are keen to locate the person involved so we can make sure they are OK and that no one is at risk.

“If you were in the area and saw a car matching the description given, please get in touch.

“Also, I am particularly keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling in the area at the relevant time and may have captured the vehicle on dashcam footage.”
