EASTER is just around the corner with a string of bank holidays also on the way.

This year will see a few changes to the usual bank holiday calendar.

If you’re trying to plan ahead, here’s what’s happening over the rest of 2022.

Easter

Easter falls later this year. Good Friday is on April 15 and Easter Monday on April 18 with Easter Sunday on April 17.

May

This year there will be just one bank holiday during May, which will be May Day on Monday, May 2.

June

To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, there will be a special four-day bank holiday at the beginning of June.

Instead of two bank holidays in May, the late May bank holiday will instead be moved to Thursday, June 2, and will form part of the Jubilee celebrations.

Then on Friday, June 3, there will be a Platinum Jubilee bank holiday.

In 2023, there will be two bank holidays in May as previous years. See below.

August

As usual, there will be a bank holiday at the end of the summer on Monday, August 29.

December

Boxing Day, which falls on Monday, December 26, will be a bank holiday followed by a second on Tuesday, December 27 which is classed as a ‘substitute day’.
