BOURNEMOUTH Beach was the third ‘most Instagrammable’ coastal spot in the UK last week, with hundreds of thousands flocking to Dorset as temperatures soared.
With some places reportedly reaching temperatures as high as 28 degrees Celsius, Dune London analysed 1,400 UK beaches by the number of times they had been hashtagged on Instagram.
With 178,430 hashtag hits, Bournemouth Beach was placed third in the UK behind only Whitley Bay and Brighton Beach.
Elsewhere in Dorset, Lulworth Cove was placed in fifth with 116,462 mentions, followed in the top 15 by Chesil Beach which hauled 43,125.
Despite the hot week, temperatures are set to plummet in the south west over the coming days according to forecasters.
The Met Office said the country will become colder, cloudier and more unsettled from Monday, bringing the risk of wintry weather in the middle of the week.
