A WOMAN who left her two dogs in a car in scorching temperatures has appeared in court.
Christine Anne Carpenter left two dogs identified as a female King Charles Spaniel named Poppy and a female Spaniel Cross named Pixie in a car in Ringwood on July 21 last year.
Data shows that the highest temperature recorded on July 21, 2019 in Southampton was 29°C.
The dogs were left in the car unattended without reasonable care and supervision, the court heard.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Carpenter pleaded guilty to one count of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal by leaving said dogs in a vehicle unattended without reasonable care and supervision, and one count of not taking steps to ensure that the needs of an animal she was responsible for were protected from pain, suffering, injury or disease.
She is due to appear in court for sentencing at 3pm today, March 25.
