A MAN left in a life-threatening condition following an assault at a Bournemouth nightclub has been discharged from hospital, police have said.

The 20-year-old from Sunbury was taken to hospital with a serious head injury following an incident at Vinyl club in Fir Vale Road at 1.32am on Sunday, February 27.

Police said the victim fell to the floor during an altercation involving two men.

A 23-year-old man from Bournemouth who was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He remains on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident and may have captured all or part of it on a mobile phone to contact them.

Last month, Cameo issued a statement following the assault at the venue.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to stress that there is no place for behaviour of this kind in our venue and we are doing everything we can to support the police investigation so that justice is served.”
