A WOMAN from Bournemouth has received a bill of more than £400 for littering in Southampton.
Sandra Andrews, 57, was said to have thrown down, dropped or otherwise deposited a cigarette butt and left it in Blechynden Terrace on September 4, 2021.
Andrews, whose address was given as Jewell Road, Bournemouth, was prosecuted by Southampton City Council for an offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
A single magistrate sitting in Portsmouth on March 1 behind closed doors found the offence was proved against the defendant through the single justice procedure.
Andrews had not entered a plea to the charge and she was not present at the court hearing.
The magistrate issued a £220 fine along with an order to pay £34 surcharge and £168.75 costs.
