A DRIVER from Dorset has received a bill of more than £500 after being clocked at 99mph on a main road in Northampton.

Edward William Yule was alleged to have driven a Renault motor vehicle in a 70mph section of the A45 Great Billing in Northampton on June 24, 2021, at 99mph on June 24 last year.

The 29-year-old, whose address was given as South Road, Corfe Mullen, did not provide a plea to the accusation, which was proved against him through the single justice procedure at Northampton Magistrates’ Court.

At a closed-doors hearing on March 8, a single magistrates issued a £440. They also ordered the defendant to pay a £44 surcharge and £90 costs.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.
