A POOLE man has been hit with a court bill of more than £20,000 for offences related to VAT and HM Revenue and Customs.
Scott Ward, 54 and of Whitecliff Road, Poole, was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on March 9.
This was after he changed his plea to guilty over a charge of supplying restaurant services without giving a VAT security and two counts of failing to comply with PAYE regulations to give security or further security for payment of any amount.
The three offences were committed in Whitechapel, London, back in 2019.
Ward was fined £2,000 for each crime. He was also ordered to pay £15,000 compensation for the VAT offence, £2,225 costs and a £190 surcharge, making a total bill of £23,415.
