A LOST dog was reunited with its owner thanks to the intervention of a marine engagement police officer.
PC Ali Roberts from Poole Police’s marine engagement team was visiting yacht clubs and marinas across Poole on Sunday (March 20), as part of police support for stakeholders and the public within the marine community.
As she was leaving one of the clubs, she came across a loose dog running around in the road on its own. Fortunately, PC Roberts was able to catch the dog and prevent any road accident.
The pooch enjoyed a ride in the police car and was reunited with its owner a short time later, after which the car was hoovered down.
Dorset Police’s marine engagement team cover 88 miles of Dorset coastline.
