A driver caught speeding at 104mph on a Dorset road told police he was 'on his way to get a haircut'.

Officers from Dorset's No Excuse team have issued a report of their latest work, with the speeding driver just one of a number of incidents they dealt with this week.

The driver was caught on Babylon Hill on Friday evening.

A No Excuse spokesperson said: "We were in Sherborne for the evening and our first vehicle was stopped having been recorded at 104mph on Babylon Hill. He was on his way to get a haircut. Driver reported to court.

"We unfortunately had to deal with a few more drivers who felt the need to exceed the speed limit."

The spokesperson added: "We've had a busy week, assisting our colleagues from different departments and forces.

"One stop resulted in a seizure of over £10,000 worth of Class A drugs.

"On Thursday we were at Heathrow to arrest a male on suspicion of rape.

"Yesterday (Friday) we were back to our role of road safety. We stopped the car below for an unrelated matter, but we found he was not complying with his insurance policy, so vehicle seized and driver issued a fixed penalty."
