DRIVERS have been ticketed by police after driving through 'road closed' signs in Bournemouth town centre.
Police say they have been patrolling in the town centre over the weekend to provide reassurance to the public out at night.
It comes a week after a man was killed outside Subway on Old Christchurch Road.
A man has been charged with murder following the incident.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Police said: "During these patrols, PC 1575 Burlton and his colleagues gave tickets to members of the public who were driving past the ‘road closed’ signs on Old Christchurch Road.
"Ignoring these traffic signs and driving along the closed road puts pedestrians at risk and can result in three points on your drivers license and a £100 fine.
"Officers will be out on patrol in the area of Old Christchurch road again next weekend, please drive safely and always take notice of the road traffic signs."
