RESIDENTS are being asked to join a demonstration for peace in Ukraine every Sunday at 12pm in Bournemouth Square.
Protestors are asking elected representatives to increase humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine, including multi-faceted support ensuring safe skies, to impose new sanctions on the Russian regime and its representatives, to sanction Belarus and to address refugee policy by simplifying visa process and providing safety to a fair share of war survivors.
They are asking big companies and organisations to stop trading with Russia and 'to take part in global resistance by showing up for Ukraine'.
Organiser, Egle Berkmonaite said: “We are uniting against Putin’s invasion and violence, in support of people in Ukraine.
"We know this is not ‘just’ an attack against the Ukrainian people, this is a war against democratic values, human rights and peace.”
