A BOURNEMOUTH Royal British Legion Club is encouraging more people to pay a visit and enjoy its weekly activities.

The Winton & Moordown RBL Club recently converted the upstairs area of its premises to help veterans in need.

A spokesperson said they were proud to be associated with the charity and urged new members to join up.

They said: “We are open for business seven days a week and have fabulous facilities including a pool table, two snooker tables and bingo on Friday evenings. 

“We also have a meat draw, super lotto, the Joker held every Sunday. “we have a large hall with its own bar and cloakroom facilities which is hired out to members and non-members for private parties and events.                                                                         

“The hall also accommodates other activities such as karate and judo clubs, dance classes and slimming world which all benefits the community.

“Club members are very pleased that they are able to help the charity ‘Helping Homeless Veterans UK’ who have recently converted the upstairs area of the club premises into six ensuite rooms, communal kitchen and lounge area to house veterans short term and give them a chance to learn new skills to get back on their feet. The club is very proud to be associated with the charity.
