A TOWN centre store in Bournemouth has been boarded up after its long term occupier closed last month.

New Look's shop in the Square closed after its lease was ended early by the landlord last month.

The end of the store came in the midst of a difficult period for the town centre, with Wilko shutting in the Richmond Gardens shopping centre in February and House of Fraser due to vacate its Old Christchurch Road site this week.

New Look had traded from the site for 21 years and its departure followed the likes of other high street brands, such as Debenhams, Topshop and Topman.

The site was being marketed by property agency Jackson Criss last autumn.

New Look's branding has now been removed from the outside of the building, which sits at the corner of Bourne Avenue and Richmond Hill.

All of the windows and doors of the large site have now been covered with large wooden boards.
