A 90-YEAR-OLD care home resident was reunited with his extended family at a surprise party.

David Mason, a resident at Queensmount Bupa Care Home was able to spend quality time with his wife Marjorie, his children John and Sheena, his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

It came after a conversation with home manager Claudia Carvell and senior activities co-ordinator Nicola Wingate, who arranged the party at the Annunciation Church Hall in Bournemouth.

David, who has been a resident at Queensmount for a year, has many fond memories with his family and said: “It was the best thing that has ever happened to me. You should never underestimate the importance of family - I love them all so much and am so grateful to Claudia, Nicola and the team for bringing my wonderful family together.

“It was a joy just to watch them all run around and play. And with 17 mouths to feed, it was good that we had such a large and delicious buffet. Our reunion party will go down as one of my favourite memories of all time.”

Ms Carvell said: “It was so touching to see all of David’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren hugging him and showering him with love.

“Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do, and we are all so glad we could facilitate bringing this brilliant family together.”
