POLICE are urging anyone to come forward with information regarding reports of a burglary at a town centre shop.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a burglary and damage to the entrance at Spar, in Mampitts Lane, Shaftesbury.

It is reported that at around 2.30am on Sunday 6 March 2022 damage was caused to the front door of the shop and entry was gained to the building.

A quantity of cigarettes and a bottle of vodka were stolen.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of North Dorset police, said: “Enquiries are underway to identify who was responsible and an examination of the scene has been carried out.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered any cigarettes for sale locally in unusual circumstances.”
