A WOMAN who was almost three times the drink drive limit after being involved in a four-vehicle crash has been banned from driving.
Helen Frances Coyle was alleged to have driven a white Mercedes convertible in Wimborne Road, Bournemouth, when the proportion of alcohol in her blood exceeded the legal limit.
Police and paramedics attended the scene following reports of a collision on December 12, 2021.
A spokesperson for Dorset Traffic Cops said four people sustained minor injuries, including the driver of the white Mercedes involved.
A hearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 21, heard that Coyle, 53 and of Shelbourne Road, Bournemouth, provided a sample which contained 235 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – the limit is 80 milligrams.
The defendant was handed a 12-month community order with a requirement to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work after she pleaded guilty to a single charge of drink driving.
Coyle was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for two years and ordered to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
