A CHURRO company has applied for permission to place a catering container at the rear of the Pavilion Theatre.

L&J Churro Ltd has applied to planning officials for permission to place the unit on the rear terrace of the Pavilion Theatre between April and September 2022.

A statement from the company submitted with the plans said: “L&J Churro Ltd is an outdoor caterer who operate in partnership with BH Live in this particular location, after a successful partnership from a street food vehicle/truck in 2021 we wish to return with a 20ft catering container which alongside the BH Live hospitality units will provide an improved experience to visitors on previous years.

“There is no construction involved in the installation process of the container, a Hiab lorry transports the container onto site and via the sliproad of Bath Road and places the container onto the ground.

“The site would be supervised at all times during installation and final sign off on placement would be cleared by BH Live representatives.

“The side and front terrace, as well as the Pavilion building itself remain unaffected by the installation.

“No current structure of the rear terrace or foundations are removed ahead of time nor affected once the container is installed.

“It is our absolute priority to work closely with BH Live to ensure the container is in the suitable/requested place and leaves no damage to the rear terrace on installation, during trading and post trading.”

The application states the site is currently vacant and was last used for three catering vehicles and gazebos throughout 2021, ending on September 30.

It adds the unit would be open seven days a week, including bank holidays, starting at 12pm and ending at 9pm.

The dimensions of the container state it would be 2.9 metres high and six metres wide.

Its depth would be 2.4 metres, the application said.

Anyone wishing to make comments on the application has until March 25 to do so. It will then be decided whether the application can be approved or refused.
