A DRIVER previously given ten points for being drunk in charge of a vehicle failed a breath test after being caught between two lanes on a roundabout.
Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team spotted the driver in Castle Lane West.
A spokesperson said: “We sighted this vehicle on Castle Lane West, Bournemouth towards Redhill at 11.40 this morning when it was between both lanes heading down to the roundabout.
“We stopped to speak to the driver who smelt of alcohol, she shortly after failed the breath test.
“The driver had returned from work locally, starting at 9am and finishing at 11.30am, she claimed it was from last night’s vodka she consumed.
“The driver was taken to Bournemouth custody where she failed to provide a specimen.
“She will now be charged with this offence and be in court shortly, she was already convicted in March 2021 of drunk in charge of a vehicle and received 10 points.”
