MULTIPLE 999 calls were received on Tuesday after an upturned vessel was spotted south of Mudeford Quay.
Southbourne Coastguard were tasked at 1.06pm on Tuesday, February 22, by the joint rescue coordination centre to what was believed to be an upturned vessel just south of the Mudeford Quay entrance.
Once on scene, the vessel was observed about three quarters of a mile offshore from Avon Beach.
The Southbourne crew requested an RNLI Mudeford lifeboat to check for any persons possibly on board.
The inshore lifeboat crew soon located the vessel and confirmed that no one was on board. They then returned it to the Quay where it was made safe and secure.
With all details passed to the joint rescue coordination centre, coastguard crews returned to the station.
