A HORSE had to be rescued by the fire service from a horsebox, which was stuck in a ditch.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Horton Road, Three Legged Cross at 12.34pm this afternoon after a horse trailer ended up on its side in a ditch with a horse named ‘Bubba’ inside.
A spokesperson from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews attended from Verwood and Ferndown, together with a technical rescue team from Poole; the initial priority was to make sure the horse was OK, and a vet attended to apply some sedation.
"The vehicle was then brought upright, before the horse was brought to safety on a specialist animal rescue board."
The horse was able to stand once the sedation had worn off, and the fire service left the scene at 2.30pm.
