A SILVER Mercedes had to be written off after someone caused “extensive” criminal damage along the passenger side.

Police have launched an investigation into the criminal damage and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The incident occurred overnight between Sunday, February 13 and 10am on Monday, February 14 near to the Suncliff Hotel in Grove Road.

Police Community Support Investigator Amelia Vaughan, of Bournemouth police, said: “The damage caused was so significant that the victim’s vehicle had to be subsequently written off.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant timeframe to please come forward.

“I would also urge motorists and residents to check their dashcams and CCTV systems for any relevant footage to help my enquiries.”
