IT'S the traditional 17th Century coaching inn serving up modern high quality local produce and boasting one of the biggest beer festivals around.

The inhabitants of The Three Tuns Inn at Bransgore were once prisoners staying as they made their way to the port at Southampton for deportation to Australia.

But, these days, guests can enjoy gastro food and even fine dining. Venison, pheasant and other game dishes are served up alongside fresh fish sourced from the fishermen at Mudeford.

A team of chefs use only the highest quality ingredients with everything prepared in house. The Sunday roasts go down a storm with vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options available. You can even enjoy food preparation demonstrations during special set evenings like the recent Wellington Wednesday.

Real ales are always a popular option with ten hand pulls in total as well as a vast variety of gins with flavoured tonics to match.

The annual beer festival is one of the biggest around, boasting 100 cask ales and 80 plus ciders, food and live music all weekend.

Bournemouth Echo:

The Three Tuns boasts an extensive beer garden and patio areas, bike lock racks and a barn events area.

Director Reece Glenister, who has been at the pub for 17 years, told the Daily Echo: "We're best known for real ales, good home cooked food, dog friendly areas and friendly welcoming staff who will go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and looked after.

"We love seeing people enjoying the food and drinks we provide and knowing we have given customers the best experience we can."

Bournemouth Echo:

One of Reece's most memorable moments at the pub was having a memorial drive past on the day of the funeral of one of their most loved and well known bar staff Jeannie. More than 100 locals and staff stood outside as she was taken past to say their last goodbye to someone who has left a real mark on the pub.

One of the pub's Covid measures was the installation of a thermal camera to take temperatures automatically and rule out those with symptoms.
