A MAN was pulled from the sea near Boscombe Pier by emergency services on Tuesday.

Police received a call raising concern for the welfare of a person in the water near the pier.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 6.56am on Tuesday, February 15, raising concern for the welfare of a person in the water near to Boscombe Pier.

“Officers attended, along with the coastguard, ambulance service and the fire service.

“The male casualty was taken to safety and then taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries are ongoing to confirm his identity. We do not have a condition update at this time.”
