A village telephone box that was purchased for £1 has been transformed into a lending library.
The Telephone Box Lending Library can be found in the village square of Broadwindsor – where people can borrow and/or exchange their books.
Broadwindsor Group Parish Council grabbed a bargain when they bough the telephone box from British Telecom for £1.
The box, which stands at 8ft 2 ins tall (2.51m), was lovingly restored and refurbished for the residents and visitors of Broadwindsor by Chris Edgerley, with help from Malcolm Heaver.
The library is monitored but users are asked to please help keep it tidy and enjoy it.
A total of 162,000 telephone boxes were produced between 1935 and 1970.
Most were painted red, but a limited number were painted grey to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V.
