A JOINT coastguard rescue was launched in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Coastguard volunteers were called to reports of a person in danger at Avon Beach at 1.37am on Saturday, February 12.
Southbourne Coastguard, Poole Coastguard, an RNLI Mudeford lifeboat were tasked with assisting Dorset Police.
While en-route, Poole Coastguard received information that the individual was in the care of the police so all assets stood down and returned to their stations.
