A PRE-SCHOOL has applied for permission to relocate itself into an existing classroom area.

Pamphill Vc CE First School has applied for permission to relocate into an existing classroom and lower an existing window to form new access into a secure play area.

A statement submitted with the application said: “Pamphill pre-school has been run from the site for a number of years.

“To date this facility has been set-up in a sports hall with all items then removed by lunchtime to allow school dinners to be served and the school to use the facility in the afternoon.

“The current arrangement limits the hours the pre-school can be open and restricts the use of the hall for the school during the majority of the day.

“Works were undertaken in 2019 to create a corridor to classroom four which provided direct access to this area.

“More recently classrooms have been reconfigured with classroom four no longer being a full-time teaching space. As a result of the above it has been decided to locate the pre-school into this area.

“The relocated pre-school will have its own designated external entrance, a separate area for staff and wet play, whilst being close to existing toilet facilities.

“There is a requirement for direct access to a secure external play area and it is proposed that this is created by adjusting an existing window to form a traditional door opening.”
