THE coroner recorded a conclusion of suicide at the inquest into the death of a young man found at Hengistbury Head.
Remiguisz Daniel Behrendt, 22, of Leven Avenue, Bournemouth, was found on the beach at Hengistbury Head in the early hours of January 3, 2021.
An inquest held at Bournemouth Town Hall heard his belongings had been found at the top of the cliff.
Mr Behrendt struggled with his mental health and had being diagnosed with schizophrenia, but had stopped taking his medication.
Weeks before his death, Mr Behrendt was arrested and had his motorbike seized. The hearing was told this had a detrimental impact on his mental health.
On January 2, 2021, Mr Behrendt left his friend’s house and travelled to Hengistbury Head.
He told his brother: “I am going to Hengistbury Head, I will be there until the morning.”
His brother said the 22-year-old was very upset during a phone call between them that evening.
Mr Behrendt was then located by a fisherman on the beach. He died of multiple injuries, including two skull fractures.
Assistant coroner for Dorset, Richard Middleton, recorded a conclusion of suicide.
